*Your heart pounds, your chest heaves, you breath rapidly* A town watchman is incinerated before you, and all you can do is run. Run, run, run.
You turn to see another guardsman, he yells something you cannot hear, and a massive explosion knocks you off your feet into the dusty cobbled streets. You almost lose your consciousness, and you shake as adrenaline pumps through your veins. You turn over to see an armored Daedra bring up his massive axe before you, with a ball of fire flaming in his other hand.
The sky starts to dim, you think you are dead, and you open your eyes to see the monster lying on top of you, with a massive Dwarven broad-head arrow sticking out of it's neck. A lone archer jumps down off the second floor of a ruined home, brandishing a gadget you have never seen before, although it looks Dwarven.
The man runs up to you, while placing another arrow in his weapon at the same time, and grabs you by the forearm. He pulls you up, and hands you a sword.
"It is time to fight, my friend, or to die trying." He says, "There are more of us, waiting to turn the Daedra, come, and we will teach you our ways."
He leads you along many of Solstheim's winding paths, away from the ruins of Solonir, away from your destroyed home, away from death.
After almost a week of travel, you end up at the end of the road, with a mountain towering over you. The man slides a rock out of the way, revealing a wooden trapdoor. He opens it, and climbs down the shaky ladder below, into darkness. With nowhere else to go, you follow, closing the door behind you.
You come into a carved stone room, and you see the man, with four people standing behind him.
He speaks, for the first time in three days. "I am Dawsyn, and this is the rest of our long lost guild."
He shows you the rooms leading off of this lobby. They have many facilities, and the entire base is self sufficient. The armory of the base is massive, and has many unknown devices in it. As you explore the rest of the base, you see the guild flag, depicting a blue background with a gold sword crossed over a portal to Oblivion.
He then shows you your new quarters, and introduces you to the rest of the members.
"Welcome to your new home", he says "I hope you enjoy it. You'll be sharing it with me, Cathryn, Jorgund, Pagus, and Relshind for a while."
"I'm going hunting in the morning, I'll tell you more about this place on the trip, if you wish to come along. It is pretty late, though, you've been through a lot, get some sleep."
With nothing more to listen to or see, you wander off to your quarters and collapse into your bunk, awaking early the next morning to Dawsyn shaking you rapidly. You slowly awake, and see that he is in full armor, with the rest of the members around you.
"We have no time, the Daedra have reached Astora. We are leaving NOW!" He commands, and turns to fetch something.
He drops armor at the foot of your bed, and almost throws you out of it. He shows you the strange gadget he had.
"This is better than a normal bow, it is mounted horizontally, and uses a gear mechanism to fire the arrow almost three times as fast. It is called a crossbow, the Dwarves invented it close to the end of their reign."
He hands you one, along with a massive metal quiver, filled with arrows.
"If we could use something with less weight, we would, but this is the most damn effective Daedra killer I have ever seen." He says, laughingly.
He holds up a large sword and shield, and tosses you a large set of armor.
"Put that on, it has a built in sheath for the sword and shield, the crossbow has a sling." He states, and rapidly resumes doing other things.
You throw on the armor, as fast as you can, and pull up the hood on the back of the gold-like armor.
Dawsyn leads you and the rest of his followers out of the room, and up onto Solstheim.
"This may be the last we see of this place, give it a good look." He says sadly.
(More coming. I had to go to bed before I finished, hopefully my RP juice keeps flowing.)
